Type of milestone: Inscribed Stone

Notes: For much of the year, this milestone is well hidden behind a layer of creeping ivy. It bears many similarities to the next milestone on this route (at Olveston), so it is quite likely that the word "MILES" was inscribed below what is now ground level. The benchmark symbol was probably originally below even that – if so, it must have been recut in its present visible location at a later date.
